Symbolic Test Selection Based on Approximate Analysis

چکیده
This paper addresses the problem of generating symbolic test cases for testing the conformance of a black-box implementation with respect to a specification, in the context of reactive systems. The challenge we consider is the selection of test cases according to a test purpose, which is here a set of scenarios of interest that one wants to observe during test execution. Because of the interactions that occur between the test case and the implementation, test execution can be seen as a game involving two players, in which the test case attempts to satisfy the test purpose. Efficient solutions to this problem have been proposed in the context of finite-state models, based on the use of fixpoint computations. We extend them in the context of infinite-state symbolic models, by showing how approximate fixpoint computations can be used in a conservative way. The second contribution we provide is the formalization of a quality criterium for test cases, and a result relating the quality of a generated test case to the approximations used in the selection algorithm.

Symbolic Model-based Test Selection
This paper addresses the problem of model-based off-line selection of test cases for testing the conformance of a black-box implementation with respect to a specification, in the context of reactive systems. Efficient solutions to this problem have been proposed for LTS finite-state models, based on the ioco conformance testing theory. In this paper, the approach is extended for infinite-state ...
متن کاملEnergy Detection of Unknown Signals over Composite multipath/shadowing Fading Channels
In this paper, the performance analysis of an energy detector is exploited over composite multipath/shadowing fading channels, which is modeled by Rayleigh-lognormal (RL) distribution. Based on an approximate channel model which was recently proposed by the author, the RL envelope probability density function (pdf) is approximated by a finite sum of weighted Rayleigh pdfs. Relying on this inter...

This paper presents an algorithm for fast large-change sensitivity computation for approximate symbolic analysis. The sensitivity is used for identifying negligible elements of circuit model that can be removed in order to simplify symbolic solution. The method is based on combination of the Sherman-Morison formula and sparse matrix techniques. Effectiveness of the method was tested on several ...
متن کاملEffects of Non-Symbolic Approximate Number Practice on Symbolic Numerical Abilities in Pakistani Children
Current theories of numerical cognition posit that uniquely human symbolic number abilities connect to an early developing cognitive system for representing approximate numerical magnitudes, the approximate number system (ANS). In support of this proposal, recent laboratory-based training experiments with U.S. children show enhanced performance on symbolic addition after brief practice comparin...
